Booking and delivery
How quickly can you deliver a dumpster in Janesville?
If you call before about noon on a weekday we can usually deliver the same afternoon, and next-morning delivery is standard the rest of the time. Spring and early summer are our busiest stretch in Rock County, so if your project has a fixed start date it is worth booking three or four days ahead. Emergency and storm clean-up calls get moved to the front of the queue where we can.
What does your flat rate actually include?
Delivery, a standard seven-day rental, pickup, a stated weight allowance in tons, disposal at the landfill and state and local taxes. There is nothing hidden underneath it. The only things that would change your number are keeping the container past the rental period, going over the weight allowance, needing it relocated on site, or putting banned material in it.
Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Janesville?
Not if it sits on your own driveway or private property, which covers the large majority of our residential drops. If the container has to sit on a public street, terrace or alley you will generally need a right-of-way or obstruction permit from the City of Janesville. Rules vary in Milton, Edgerton, Beloit and the smaller villages, so always confirm with that municipality first.
Can I get a container delivered when I am not home?
Yes, and it is very common. Just tell us exactly where you want it — a photo texted to us helps enormously — and make sure the spot is clear of vehicles. The driver will place it, lay the protection boards and text you a photo when it is down.
What if I need it picked up early or held longer?
Just call. Early pickup is usually next-day and costs nothing extra. Extra days are charged at a modest daily rate, and we would far rather extend you than have you rush a job or overload a container to beat a deadline.
Sizes, weight and loading
What if I order the wrong size?
Call us. If it is too small we will bring a second container or swap it, and if you genuinely have not touched it we can usually exchange it for a different size the same or next day. It is far cheaper to make one call than to overfill a container — an overloaded box legally cannot be transported and will have to be levelled before we can lift it.
How much space do I need for the container itself?
Allow roughly 10 feet of width and the container length plus about 15 feet of clearance behind it so the truck can set it and pick it up. A 10 yard needs about 30 feet of total run, a 30 or 40 yard closer to 60. Vertical clearance of around 23 feet is needed for the hoist — mind low branches and overhead service drops.
What happens if I go over the weight allowance?
The overage is charged per ton at a rate we tell you up front, based on the scale ticket from the disposal facility. We give you the actual ticket. Most residential customers never see one — it typically comes up on heavy material like plaster, tile, masonry or a roof with more layers than expected.
Can I fill it above the top rail?
No. The load has to sit level with the top rail so it can be tarped and legally transported on Wisconsin roads. If it is heaped, the driver cannot take it and you will need to level it before we return. When you are loading, keep the bulky items flat and fill the voids rather than building a pile at one end.
Which size is most popular in Janesville?
The 20 yard, by a wide margin. It is the sweet spot for whole-home cleanouts, mid-size remodels and most roof tear-offs, and its walls are low enough that you can throw things over the side rather than walking everything through the door. The 15 yard is the runner-up for garage and basement clearouts.
Pricing and payment
How is a dumpster rental priced?
By container size, the weight allowance included, the rental period and how far we drive. We quote all of that as a single flat rate that already includes delivery, pickup, disposal and tax. The full breakdown is in our pricing guide.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. There are four things that can change your invoice and we tell you all four up front: exceeding the stated weight allowance, keeping the container past the rental period, asking us to relocate it on site, and putting banned material in it that we have to have sorted out. Nothing else.
What is a dry run fee?
It is what most haulers charge when a truck arrives and cannot deliver or collect — a car blocking the spot, a locked gate, an overloaded container heaped above the rail. We would much rather avoid it than charge it, which is why our drivers call ahead. A quick text if plans change usually prevents it entirely.
How do I pay, and when?
Most residential customers pay by card over the phone when they book, which locks the rate in. Established contractors and commercial accounts can be invoiced on terms. If there is a weight overage or extra rental days, that is billed afterwards against the actual scale ticket, which we will show you.
What can and cannot go in
What can't I put in the dumpster?
Wisconsin bans a specific list from landfills: electronics such as TVs, monitors and computers, appliances containing refrigerant, tires, lead-acid batteries, used oil and filters, yard waste, and fluorescent or mercury-containing devices. On top of that we cannot take liquids, wet paint, propane tanks, asbestos-containing material or hazardous chemicals. Call us and we will tell you exactly where each of those should go instead.
Can I put a mattress or furniture in?
Yes. Mattresses, box springs, sofas, tables and general furniture are all fine in a standard mixed load. Breaking down bulky items before they go in makes a real difference to how much you fit — a disassembled sectional takes maybe half the volume of an intact one.
What about appliances?
Appliances without refrigerant — washers, dryers, ranges, dishwashers — are fine. Anything containing refrigerant, including refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and dehumidifiers, is banned from Wisconsin landfills until the refrigerant is professionally recovered. Set those aside and we will point you to the right place.
Can I put paint in the dumpster?
Not wet. Latex paint can go in once it is fully dried out — stir in kitty litter, sawdust or a paint hardener, leave the lid off until it is solid, and it becomes ordinary solid waste. Oil-based paint, stains and solvents must go to a household hazardous waste collection instead.

Will the truck damage my driveway?
We lay protective boards under the container rails on every residential delivery at no charge, and our drivers are trained to spread the load and avoid pivot turns on soft surfaces. That handles the ordinary risk. A driveway with an already-failing base, fresh sealcoat, or saturated ground during the March–April thaw is a different conversation — tell us and we will suggest a placement that works.
Can the container go on the street?
Often, but it usually needs a right-of-way or obstruction permit from the municipality, plus reflectors or barricades if it stays overnight. In winter, street placement in Janesville runs straight into snow-removal and snow-emergency parking rules, so we generally steer people to a driveway between December and March. What if my driveway is gravel or the ground is soft?
Gravel is usually fine if it is well compacted and reasonably level. Soft or saturated ground is the real problem, especially during the March and April thaw. Tell us the surface when you book and the driver will bring extra boards, choose a different approach, or recommend a smaller container that spreads less load.

How long have you been in business?
Since 2012. Jared started with one used roll-off truck and three containers after a decade working construction around Rock County, and the company has grown steadily but deliberately since — enough trucks to be reliable, few enough that you still get a person who knows your job.
Are you licensed and insured?
Fully licensed to haul in Wisconsin and carrying general liability and auto coverage appropriate to commercial hauling. We are happy to send a certificate of insurance to general contractors, property managers and municipalities before a job starts — just ask when you book.
Do you work with contractors on ongoing jobs?
Constantly. Roofers, remodellers, restoration companies and property managers make up a large share of our week. We run standing swap-out schedules, priority call windows during peak season, consolidated monthly invoicing and negotiated rates on volume. Call and ask for the commercial side.
What happens to the material after pickup?
It is weighed, then sorted where the load makes sorting worthwhile — clean wood, scrap metal, cardboard and clean concrete get diverted rather than landfilled. Everything else goes to a permitted disposal facility. Materials banned from Wisconsin landfills are separated out and routed to the right recycler.
