Edgerton still smells faintly of its tobacco years if you know where to look, in the big brick warehouses near the tracks and in the deep, tall-ceilinged houses the buyers built. It is a compact city with a genuine downtown, and then it opens north toward Lake Koshkonong, where the housing changes character completely into cottages, seasonal places and year-round homes squeezed onto old platted lake lots. Typical work is warehouse and commercial clean-out, farmhouse and outbuilding cleanouts in Albion and Fulton townships, cottage gut jobs, and roof tear-offs before winter.

On private property — a driveway, a yard, a farm lane, a job site — you will not normally need a permit anywhere in Rock County, and that covers the large majority of our Edgerton deliveries. • Spring thaw. March and April are the highest-risk window in Rock County. Saturated ground, soft lawns and posted weight limits on rural roads all bite at once. Tell us the surface and we will plan around it.
• Winter. Frozen ground actually drives beautifully; ice does not. Clear and sand the placement area before we arrive, and remember snow and rain add real weight to an open container.
