Footville is the closest of the little farm villages to our yard, a tight cluster of houses where US-14 and WI-213 meet, with grain moving through and fields starting almost at the last mailbox. Everybody knows everybody, and projects here tend to be the honest kind: a roof that has waited two winters too long, a shed that finally blew apart in a March wind, a house being cleared for the next family. Because the drive is short and the lots are wide, Footville is one of the simplest places we serve.
