These terms govern the rental of roll-off containers and related services from Little J's Dumpster Rental Janesville. By booking a container you agree to them. If something here conflicts with what we agreed on the phone, call us and we will sort it out — these terms exist to be clear, not to catch anyone out.

1. Booking and quotations

Quotes are given verbally on the basis of the information you provide about the material, volume, weight and placement. A quote is valid for 30 days and assumes the job matches the description. If what we find on site is materially different, we will tell you before proceeding.

2. What the flat rate includes

Delivery, a seven-day rental period unless otherwise agreed, collection, the weight allowance stated at the time of booking, disposal at a permitted facility, and applicable state and local taxes.

3. Additional charges

Charges beyond the flat rate arise only in these circumstances, each disclosed at the time of booking:

• Weight overage — material above the stated allowance, charged per ton against the disposal facility's scale ticket, which we will provide on request.
• Extended rental — a daily rate for each day beyond the agreed period.
• Dry run — where a truck attends but cannot deliver or collect because access is blocked, the container is overloaded above the rail, or the site is unsafe.
• Relocation — moving a container to a different position after it has been set.
• Prohibited material — the cost of sorting, handling and lawfully disposing of banned or hazardous items placed in the container, plus any fine levied on us as a result.

4. Prohibited materials

You must not place in the container: liquids of any kind; wet paint, solvents, stains or adhesives; oil, fuel, antifreeze or other automotive fluids; batteries; tires; propane tanks, aerosols or pressurised cylinders; asbestos-containing material; refrigerant-containing appliances; electronics banned under E-Cycle Wisconsin; yard waste; medical or biological waste; ammunition or explosives; radioactive material; or anything else classed as hazardous under federal, Wisconsin or local law. You remain responsible for the contents of the container while it is in your possession.

5. Placement, access and site conditions

You are responsible for ensuring the placement area is legal, safe, accessible and able to bear the weight of a loaded container and truck, and for identifying underground utilities, septic systems, wells, irrigation lines and invisible fencing. Where a container is placed on a public street, terrace or right-of-way, you are responsible for obtaining any permit required by the City of Janesville or the relevant municipality, and for any required signage, reflectors or barricades.

6. Property damage

We lay protective boards on residential deliveries as a matter of course and our drivers take reasonable care. Nonetheless, driveways, aprons, lawns, kerbs and other surfaces can be marked or damaged by the weight of a loaded truck or container, particularly on asphalt in hot weather, on saturated ground, or where the surface has an existing defect. By directing placement you accept that risk. We are not liable for damage to surfaces along the route to and from the placement point, or to unmarked underground features.

7. Loading

Material must be loaded level with or below the top rail. Overloaded containers cannot lawfully be transported and will not be collected until levelled. Do not move, drag or attempt to reposition a container yourself. Do not allow anyone to climb into or on top of a container.

8. Ownership of contents

Once material is placed in the container and the container is collected, title to that material passes to us. Please check the container before collection — items placed in error cannot ordinarily be retrieved after disposal.

9. Payment

Residential rentals are payable at the time of booking unless credit terms have been agreed in writing. Commercial accounts are payable in accordance with the agreed terms. Overdue balances may attract interest at the maximum rate permitted by Wisconsin law and reasonable costs of collection.

10. Cancellation

Cancel or reschedule at no charge by calling before the truck is dispatched. Once a truck has been dispatched to your address, a dry-run charge may apply.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from any rental is limited to the amount paid for that rental. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including lost profits or project delay.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, penalties and costs arising from prohibited material placed in a container by you or anyone at your site, from placement on land you did not have authority to use, or from failure to obtain a required permit.

13. Force majeure

We are not liable for delay or failure caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, road closures, seasonal weight restrictions imposed under Wisconsin DOT rules, landfill closures, equipment failure or labour disruption.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, and the courts of Rock County, Wisconsin shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
